Meet Our Doctors

Camilla McCalmont, MD

Dr. McCalmont grew up in small town Iowa and attended the University of Iowa College of Medicine.  She completed her dermatology training at Wake Forest University Medical School in North Carolina. She has been practicing community dermatology in El Cerrito since 1992.

 

Dr. McCalmont has built a broad medical dermatology practice over those 2 decades. Much of her practice centers on personally treating skin cancers or utilizing the surgical expertise of local Mohs surgeons like Dr. Fu.  She has been recognized by her peers as one of the Best Doctors of the East Bay on multiple occasions.

 

Dr. McCalmont spends her time outside the office bicycling with her husband, cooking, gardening and reading.

Shan Pai, MD

Dr. Pai grew up in Texas and Taiwan.  She moved to the Bay Area in 1993 for college at Stanford University, graduating with honors with a degree in biological sciences.  She then went on to earn her Medical Doctorate at Stanford.  After medical school, she completed her dermatology residency at University of California at San Francisco.  Dr. Pai is a board certified dermatologist and a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology.

 

Dr. Pai enjoys practicing the full spectrum of medical dermatology, including skin cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.  She also performs minor dermatological surgeries at the office.

 

Outside of clinics, Dr. Pai enjoys exploring new and interesting places with her husband and two children.  She also enjoys baking, cooking, and an occasional game of tennis.

Jennifer Fu, MD

Dr. Fu grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She received her bachelor’s degree in Biology at Harvard University and attended medical school at Cornell University.  She moved to the Bay Area in 2005 for her dermatology residency at the University of California, San Francisco.  She went on to complete both her dermatology residency and a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Procedural Dermatology at UCSF.  Dr. Fu remains on faculty at UCSF, directing the Hair Clinic along with her mentor Dr. Vera Price and colleagues Dr. Paradi Mirmirani and Dr. Ingrid Roseborough.

 

In her private practice, Dr. Fu sees patients with a broad variety of skin issues.  Her special areas of interest include non-scarring and scarring forms of hair loss.  She also brings her expertise in cutaneous oncology, Mohs micrographic surgery and surgical reconstruction, to the evaluation and treatment of skin cancers and nail tumors.  Dr. Fu is an active member of the National Alopecia Areata Foundation and serves as medical editor for the Cicatricial Alopecia Research Foundation.

 

When not at the office, Dr. Fu is most likely to be found exploring the outdoors and other fun Bay Area activities with her husband and children.
